Spanish carrier Iberia Express has announced it will extend the suspension of its night flights to and from 'Israel' for an additional week, the 'Israeli' Channel 12 reported on Thursday, citing ongoing security concerns in the region.

The move comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, particularly concerns over potential hostilities involving Iran. The airline’s decision follows a similar step taken by the Lufthansa Group, which recently extended the cancellation of its own night flights to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport through February 3.

Lufthansa adjusts operations to daytime flights

The Lufthansa Group, which operates multiple carriers including SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, had earlier today restricted flights to daytime hours between January 15 and 31 to avoid overnight stays in 'Israel' for its crews.

Passengers affected by the cancellations are being offered rebookings or adjustments to travel dates, with some canceled night flights rescheduled to daytime slots to minimize disruption.

“Passenger safety remains our top priority,” a Lufthansa Group spokesperson said. “We continue to monitor the situation closely and will adapt our flight operations as needed.”
