  • US military conducted 672 airstrikes in one year under Trump, nearly matching Biden’s four-year total of 694.
  • Strikes killed over 1,000 people, including civilians, targeting Yemen, Somalia, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Caribbean drug routes.

The US military carried out 672 airstrikes in the first year of President Donald Trump’s current term, almost equaling the 694 strikes executed over the full four years of President Joe Biden’s administration, according to nonprofit organization ACLED.

Global Targets and Operations

The tally includes drone attacks and air operations worldwide, from Yemen to Somalia, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. US forces have also conducted strikes against boats allegedly trafficking drugs in the Caribbean and Pacific since September 2025.

Notably, the statistics cover the January 3 operation on Venezuela’s air defenses during the arrest attempt of President Nicolás Maduro. Yemen accounted for at least 7 percent of last year’s strikes, primarily targeting Houthi forces, while roughly 2 percent targeted armed groups in Somalia.

Civilian Casualties

ACLED reports that these strikes resulted in over 1,000 deaths, including civilians. The organization compiles data from multiple sources it considers reliable, including media outlets, local partners, and institutional reports.
