  • 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says close coordination with US President Donald Trump is key to advancing 'Israel’s' security goals in 2026, including on Gaza and Iran.

'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that his close personal relationship with US President Donald Trump, along with the strong alliance between 'Israel' and the United States, positions 'Israel' to continue what he described as a “series of achievements” into 2026.

Speaking in the Knesset, Netanyahu highlighted ongoing coordination with Trump on a range of sensitive regional and security issues, including efforts related to Gaza and Iran.

Netanyahu said he and Trump have held extensive discussions regarding attempts to recover the body of Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, the last remaining captive, whose remains are believed to be held in the Gaza Strip.

Turning to Iran, the prime minister stressed that 'Israel' and the United States are aligned in preventing Tehran from restoring its military and nuclear capabilities. “We will not allow Iran to rebuild its ballistic missile industry, and we certainly won’t let it renew its nuclear program,” Netanyahu said.

He outlined what he described as a shared 'Israeli'-American position: Iran must have zero uranium enrichment capability, all enriched uranium must be removed from the country, and its nuclear facilities must be subject to strict and continuous oversight.

Netanyahu also struck a note of support for the Iranian population, saying 'Israel' “identifies with the struggle of the Iranian people and their aspirations for freedom and justice.” He suggested Iran could be approaching “a decisive moment” in which its citizens may seek to shape their own future.

The remarks underscored Netanyahu’s message that he and Trump are fully aligned on Iran and broader regional challenges, a coordination he said would be critical to 'Israel’s' security and diplomatic objectives in the year ahead.
