  • Interim Leadership: Following the abduction of Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela's Supreme Court designated Vice President Delcy Rodríguez as interim president to ensure "administrative continuity" and oversee the country’s national defense council.
  • Aggressive Rhetoric: In a televised address, Rodríguez condemned the US raid as "unprecedented military aggression" for oil control and alleged the operation had a "Zionist tint," though no evidence of ‘Israeli’ involvement has been provided so far.

After the US military executed a raid early Saturday that resulted in the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, the country’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez said the operation carried a “Zionist tint”.

The attack on Venezuela involved over 150 aircraft and marked a significant intervention amid longstanding disputes over Maduro's leadership, including allegations of drug trafficking and narcoterrorism.

Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were abducted and were transported to New York to face federal charges.

Rodríguez, who has been designated as interim leader by the country's Supreme Court, condemned the US actions in a televised address.

Flanked by military officials and cabinet members, Rodríguez described the raid as an "unprecedented military aggression" by the US, asserting that it was motivated by a desire to seize control of Venezuela's vast oil reserves.

During her speech, Rodríguez emphasized that Maduro remains the "only president of Venezuela" and demanded his immediate release.

She announced the formation of a national defense council and the full deployment of Venezuela's national forces to safeguard the country's sovereignty, vowing that Venezuela "will never again be a colony of any empire."

A notable aspect of Rodríguez's remarks was her claim that the operation carried a "Zionist tint," suggesting involvement or influence by ‘Israel’.

“The governments of the world are simply shocked that it is the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela which is the victim and subject of an attack of this nature, which has, without a doubt, a Zionist tint,” she said.

She stated that global governments were shocked by the attack on Venezuela, warning that "history and justice will make them pay."

No evidence has been presented so far indicating any ‘Israeli’ role in the US-led mission.
