- Qatar’s Prime Minister says Gaza ceasefire is incomplete without full 'Israeli' withdrawal.
- Peace plan supported by Washington and the UN remains central to stability.
- Full withdrawal is required for the ceasefire to be considered finalized.
The nearly two-month-old ceasefire in the Gaza Strip remains fragile and incomplete, according to Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
Speaking at the Doha Forum on Saturday, he stressed that 'Israeli' troops must fully withdraw from Palestinian territory for the ceasefire to be considered effective.
“Now we are at the critical moment... We cannot consider it yet a ceasefire, a ceasefire cannot be completed unless there is a full withdrawal of the Israeli forces, (and) there is stability back in Gaza,” Sheikh Mohammed said during the annual diplomatic conference in Qatar’s capital.
The remarks underscore ongoing international efforts to solidify peace in Gaza under a framework supported by both Washington and the United Nations. While the ceasefire has reduced hostilities, the Prime Minister indicated that lasting stability hinges on implementing the full terms of the peace plan, including troop withdrawal.
