The spokesperson for the ‘Israeli’ army confirmed on Wednesday that an airstrike targeted what the military described as a “Hamas operative” in northern Gaza.

The army said the strike, carried out by the Southern Command and the ‘Israeli’ Air Force, was aimed at neutralizing an individual allegedly “planning an immediate sniper attack against Israeli forces.”

The spokesperson emphasized that the operation was conducted to “eliminate an immediate threat” to troops in the area and was carried out “in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.”

The statement added that ‘Israeli’ forces remain deployed in northern Gaza according to the agreement and will continue to act against any threats to the safety of their soldiers.
