  • Trump welcomes UN Security Council approval of a US-led plan to establish a Board of Peace and stabilization force in Gaza.
  • The resolution passed with 13 votes in favor; Russia and China abstained.
  • Trump says the initiative will have “Historic” global impact.
  • The mandate extends through December 2027, with future renewals requiring regional coordination.

US President Donald Trump on Monday celebrated the UN Security Council’s decision to endorse a US-crafted proposal creating a new Board of Peace and an International Stabilization Force (ISF) for the Gaza Strip. The resolution gives international backing to a framework Washington has promoted as part of a broader plan to end the ongoing conflict.

In a message posted to his Truth Social account shortly after the vote, Trump praised the outcome, writing, "Congratulations to the World on the incredible Vote of the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, acknowledging and endorsing the board of peace, which will be chaired by me, and include the most powerful and respected Leaders throughout the World."

The measure was adopted with 13 Security Council members voting in favor, while Russia and China chose to abstain. Trump described the approval as unprecedented, saying, "This will go down as one of the biggest approvals in the History of the United Nations, will lead to further Peace all over the World, and is a moment of true Historic proportion!"

He also thanked the Council and expressed gratitude to regional partners who supported the proposal, naming Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, and Jordan among the governments that played key roles. "The members of the Board, and many more exciting announcements, will be made in the coming weeks," he added.

The vote comes a month after both 'Israel' and Hamas agreed to the first phase of Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, a ceasefire aimed at halting the two-year genocide, coupled with arrangements for the release of captives.

According to the resolution, the presence of the Board of Peace and the ISF will remain authorized until December 31, 2027, with any extension requiring new Council approval and full coordination with Egypt, 'Israel' and other states engaged with the mission.
