Fourth 'Israeli' incursion in two days targets southern Quneitra, Syria

Syrian state media reported Wednesday that 'Israeli' forces launched another incursion into southern Quneitra province in southwestern Syria, continuing a series of operations in the area.

According to the Syrian official news channel, 'Israeli' troops entered the village of Rasm al-Qatta in southern Quneitra, set up a military checkpoint, and prevented local residents from passing through.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) added that 'Israeli' forces also advanced along the road connecting the village of Abu Ghara and the town of Suwayseh, where they established a checkpoint and restricted movement.

The previous day, 'Israeli' forces reportedly carried out three consecutive incursions in villages across Quneitra, setting up a checkpoint between the villages of Umm Batina and Juba and conducting searches of civilians.

Syrian authorities had not commented on the latest incursions as of the time of publishing.

Damascus regularly condemns repeated 'Israeli' violations of its sovereignty and reaffirms its commitment to the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement, which 'Israel' declared null following the fall of the Assad regime in late 2024.

'Israeli' incursions in Quneitra have reportedly intensified in recent months. Residents say that these operations have damaged agricultural lands, destroyed hundreds of dunams of forests (one dunam equals 1,000 square meters), led to arbitrary arrests, and involved the establishment of military checkpoints and searches of civilians.

On Tuesday, a military patrol of three vehicles moved from the Al-Hamidiya point toward the village of Al-Samadaniyah al-Sharqiya, setting up a checkpoint between Umm Batina and Juba and inspecting passersby. Earlier the same day, 'Israeli' forces reportedly conducted two additional incursions: one toward Al-Samadaniyah al-Sharqiya and another with four vehicles in the village of Al-Mushayrifa.

Syrian authorities have not provided official comment on the nature or outcomes of the incursions, but continue to condemn 'Israel’s' repeated violations and emphasize their adherence to the 1974 separation agreement.
