A new report by The New York Times warned that another round of war between ‘Israel’ and Iran may be inevitable, as both sides prepare for renewed confrontation.
According to the report, ‘Israel’ believes its mission to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities remains incomplete following the June war, while Tehran is accelerating military readiness in anticipation of another attack.
Iranian officials told the NYT that missile factories are operating around the clock, with plans to fire up to 2,000 missiles if conflict resumes, which is four times more than in June.
War Minister Israel Katz has also hinted that ‘Israel’ could resume strikes to prevent Iran from rebuilding its air power.
The report adds that Iran’s new underground enrichment site, known as Pickaxe Mountain, remains off-limits to international inspectors, fueling ‘Israeli’ concerns that Tehran continues to advance its nuclear ambitions.
Regional analysts claimed that while Iran is weaker and more isolated than before, it still retains the ability to destabilize the region through its network of allies and proxies.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi meanwhile rejected US conditions for restarting talks, warning of “dire consequences” if ‘Israel’ attacks again.
The NYT concluded that both Tehran and ‘Israel’ view another confrontation as inevitable.
