The Gaza Health Ministry announced the deaths of three people and one injury admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours. The ministry also revealed a severe humanitarian concern, around 6,000 registered amputee cases in the Strip, describing their condition as critical.

With the latest figures, the total death toll from the ongoing ‘Israeli’ assault on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 69,182, while the number of injuries has reached 170,694, according to the ministry. The health sector continues to face immense pressure and a chronic shortage of medical supplies.

Thousands of amputees need urgent care

The ministry sounded the alarm over the growing number of amputee cases, stressing that they are in urgent need of long-term rehabilitation programs.

Statistics released by the ministry show that:

  • 25% of all amputee cases are children.
  • 12.7% are women.
  • Lack of resources worsens suffering.

Health authorities in Gaza attributed the worsening conditions to the severe shortage of medical resources and assistive equipment, which has made recovery and rehabilitation nearly impossible under the current circumstances.
