At least 31 Palestinians, including 11 children, were killed in 'Israeli' airstrikes across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, local authorities said.

Dozens more were wounded as rescue teams worked to recover victims from the rubble.

The strikes on Tuesday evening came after 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered military action, accusing Hamas of violating the ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10.

Hamas, in turn, accused 'Israel' of breaching the truce and announced the postponement of a planned handover of a captive’s body that had been scheduled for Tuesday evening.

The airstrikes mark a continuation of 'Israeli' military operations in Gaza despite the ongoing ceasefire.
