The campaign, which focused heavily on exploiting vulnerable service providers, affected over 10 firms.
Supply Chain Strategy Exploited
According to the Directorate, the attacks were primarily launched against companies that provide vital IT and digital services to a broad range of ‘Israeli’ businesses, a tactic known as a supply chain breach.
Officials confirmed that more than 10 private companies have been targeted in this recent campaign, according to Hebrew media.
Investigators found that attackers often gained unauthorized access to systems using stolen or leaked credentials, such as usernames and passwords. While most intrusions were prevented from causing operational damage, a number did result in unauthorized information leaks.
Shamir Medical Center Hit, Operations Secured
The investigation also confirmed that the cyberattack against the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) on Yom Kippur was carried out by these Iranian groups.
Although the attackers managed to steal “some” data, the intrusion was quickly detected and contained, according to the reports.
