Gaza Civil Defense says 10,000 bodies remain under rubble

Gaza's Civil Defense agency on Friday blasted the international community for employing "double standards" in its response to the victims of the ‘Israeli’ assault on Gaza.

The agency said that an estimated 10,000 bodies remain under the rubble of destroyed buildings, with a noticeable lack of international urgency to recover them.

In statements to Al-Araby TV, the Civil Defense confirmed that its crews have managed to recover more than 260 bodies so far, noting that local teams operate around the clock with severely limited resources amid an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.

"There is a double standard from the international community in the degree of eagerness to recover our prisoners and the occupation's prisoners," the Civil Defense stated.

"There are 10,000 martyrs under the rubble, and we do not see eagerness from the international community and organizations to retrieve them."

The agency confirmed receiving dozens of daily appeals from families requesting the recovery of their relatives' bodies from beneath the debris.
