Gaza civil defense confirms ‘Israeli’ forces retreating from several areas

• 'Israeli' forces begin pulling back from Gaza City and Khan Yunis, civil defense confirms.
• Move is part of the early phase of Trump’s plan, including monitored withdrawal and release of captives.

Gaza's civil defense agency confirmed Friday that ‘Israeli’ forces have begun pulling back from parts of the territory, particularly in Gaza City and Khan Younis, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported. 

"Israeli forces have withdrawn from several areas in Gaza City," Mohammed al-Mughayyir, a senior official with the agency said.

He added that ‘Israeli’ military vehicles had also pulled out from sections of the southern city of Khan Younis.

This step comes as part of US President Trump’s plan to end the offensive in Gaza, restructuring the military and political situation of the enclave.

The plan includes international monitoring to enforce the agreement, the release of captives as well as detainees, and ensuring a gradual withdrawal of heavy ‘Israeli’ equipment and machinery.
