  • Lebanon arrested 32 people accused of spying for 'Israel.'
  • 'Israel' violated a ceasefire agreement signed with Hezbollah countless times already.

Lebanon has arrested 32 people in recent months on suspicion of providing ‘Israel’ with information on Hezbollah that facilitated strikes across the country, a judicial official told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Thursday.

The official said that "at least 32 people have been arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Israel, six of them before the ceasefire,” the official said, requesting anonymity.

So far, "nine people have been tried by the military court", while 23 are still under investigation, the official added.

Another judicial official with knowledge of the investigations said two of those convicted were sentenced to eight and seven years of hard labor respectively.

‘Israel’ has repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreement signed with Hezbollah last November, carrying out strikes across Lebanon targeting areas it claims are controlled by Hezbollah, killing and injuring many people.

Under US pressure, the Lebanese government has approved a plan for the national army to disarm Hezbollah by the end of 2025.

However, the group rejected the deadline and the plan, maintaining its stance that its weapons are essential for defending Lebanon against ‘Israel.’
