Climate activist Greta Thunberg has fired back at US President Donald Trump after he called her a “troublemaker” and claimed she had “an anger management problem.”

In an Instagram post shared late Monday, Thunberg responded with her trademark sarcasm, writing, “I heard Donald Trump once again has expressed his very flattering opinions on my character, and I appreciate his concerns for my mental health. To Trump: I would kindly receive any recommendations you might have to deal with these so called ‘anger management problems’ since, judging by your impressive track record, you seem to be suffering from them too.”

Trump’s remarks came after Thunberg and other climate campaigners were detained in 'Israel' for attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla. Following her release, Thunberg traveled to Greece, where she continued to advocate for climate justice and an end to the humanitarian blockade on Gaza.

Speaking to White House reporters, Trump dismissed the young activist’s recent actions, saying, “She is just a troublemaker. You know, she is no longer into the environment, now she is a troublemaker. She has an anger management problem. I think she should see a doctor. If you ever watch her, for a young person, she’s so angry. She’s so crazy. You can have her.”

This latest exchange revives a long-running feud between the president and the Swedish climate activist, which began in 2019 when Trump mocked Thunberg after she was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.

Thunberg’s quick-witted responses have since become part of her public persona, often flipping Trump’s insults back on him.
