Morocco’s Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, has described public protests and demonstrations as an integral part of Moroccan society, saying they reflect the country's vibrant political life.

Speaking at a recent event, Ouahbi noted that Morocco recorded nearly 3,000 demonstrations in 2022, underscoring the growing culture of public expression and civic engagement.

“The most important thing is that there is an active political movement in the country,” he said, adding that the state must learn to understand and respond positively to this dynamic.

Ouahbi emphasized that the existence of genuine political activity is a reassuring sign of a healthy state. “When there is a real political movement, it brings confidence in the state, while its absence raises questions about its condition and direction,” he explained.
