It said in a statement that it "welcomes the sincere and determined efforts of President Donald J Trump to end the war on Gaza, and affirms its confidence in his ability to find a path toward peace".
In the statement, the State of Palestine announced its own comprehensive vision for a final solution, which includes a time-bound internal reform program and the establishment of an "unarmed" state.
The statement affirmed the PA’s commitment to working with the United States and regional partners to end the war through a comprehensive agreement that guarantees several core points:
- The delivery of sufficient, unrestricted humanitarian aid to Gaza.
- The release of all detainees and prisoners.
- The establishment of security mechanisms to protect the Palestinian people and ensure security for both sides.
- The prevention of land annexation, the displacement of Palestinians, and all other unilateral actions.
- The release of withheld Palestinian tax money.
- A complete ‘Israeli’ withdrawal.
The statement stressed the necessity of "unifying Palestinian land and institutions in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem" to end the occupation and pave the way for a just peace based on the two-state solution.
“Unarmed State” and Key Reforms
Palestine's vision also detailed the nature of the desired state, which it said would be a "modern, democratic, unarmed Palestinian state" that is committed to pluralism and the peaceful transfer of power, and “would live alongside the State of Israel in peace and security” – according to the statement.
