Saudi Arabia, Qatar provide USD 89 million to support Syria
Saudi Arabia and Qatar announced a joint financial support package worth USD 89 million for Syria, aimed at funding public sector salaries for three months and ensuring the continuity of essential services for the Syrian people.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the support will be delivered through the Saudi Development Fund and the Qatar Development Fund, in coordination with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to implement the project.
The initiative aims to enhance sustainable livelihoods and promote economic recovery in Syria.

This joint financial grant is the latest in a series of Saudi-led support and investment initiatives in Syria.
On September 11, Saudi Arabia provided an oil grant of 1.65 million barrels of crude oil to Syria.
In August, Saudi companies, under the supervision of the Saudi Ministry of Energy, signed an agreement and six memoranda of understanding with the Syrian Ministry of Energy to develop Syria’s energy sector.
