The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has filed a formal criminal complaint with the Prosecutor General of the Court of First Instance in Athens against Naor Shlomo Dadon, a soldier in the 'Israeli' army’s Givati Brigade, 432nd Infantry Battalion “Tzabar,” for his alleged role in war crimes and acts of genocide during the ongoing 'Israeli' military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Greek human rights lawyer Evgenia Kouniaki submitted the complaint on September 19, 2025, on behalf of the Hind Rajab Foundation. The complaint is based on a 70-page investigative report prepared by the foundation, documenting Dadon’s deployment in Gaza, the direct role of his unit in destroying civilian infrastructure, and his public celebration of these acts on social media.

A Soldier Who Documented His Own Crimes

Naor Shlomo Dadon served in Gaza from at least August 2024 to August 2025. As a member of the 432nd Battalion, Dadon took part in a military campaign that flattened neighborhoods in Rafah and Jabalia, displaced tens of thousands of people, and destroyed schools, homes, and public infrastructure.

The foundation stated that the evidence includes photographs and posts showing his participation in destroying civilian areas in Rafah and Jabalia, the burning of Hamad Bin Khalifa School, as well as social media posts glorifying the devastation of civilian areas. He also photographed himself barbecuing in a besieged area amid mass starvation, according to the foundation’s official website.

The foundation added that Dadon is currently attending a “mental resilience” retreat in Zagora, Magnesia, organized by the Israeli group Rising Heroes. It criticized the program, describing it as providing “impunity disguised as wellness,” and accused it of shielding suspects from legal accountability.

“The perpetrators of civilian destruction cannot find safe haven in Europe,” said Diab Abu Jahjah, Chairman of the foundation’s board. “These so-called therapy retreats are not about post-trauma support but are havens for post-atrocity comfort. While Palestinian families dig through rubble searching for loved ones, the men who buried them are offered yoga and fresh mountain air in Greece.”

The complaint calls on Greek authorities to investigate Dadon under the universal jurisdiction provisions of Greek criminal law, the Geneva Conventions, and the Rome Statute.

The alleged crimes include targeting schools and civilian sites, large-scale destruction of property, and the deliberate imposition of living conditions amounting to genocide.

Earlier this month, the Hind Rajab Foundation filed a similar complaint in Greece against another soldier from the same brigade, Yair Awahana, which was referred to the Preliminary Investigation Department of the Court of First Instance in Corfu.
