‘Israel’ announced closing the Allenby Crossing (King Hussein Bridge) and the Sheikh Hussein Crossing (Jordan River Bridge) until further notice following Thursday’s shooting and stabbing which killed two ‘Israeli’ soldiers.

As the main gateway for Palestinians to the outside world, the decision halted all movement between Jordan and the occupied West Bank, leaving thousands stuck on both sides of the border and triggering a logistical crisis.

‘Israeli’ officials said the measures were imposed under “heightened security directives,” adding that workers had been sent home already.

Despite the ‘Israeli’ announcement, some media outlets reported that the Sheikh Hussein crossing, mainly used by ‘Israeli’ passport holders, remained partially open as of press time.

The contradictory information has frustrated travelers further, leaving many without clear guidance.

Meanwhile, ‘Israel’ said the southern Rabin (Wadi Araba) Crossing will remain open but only for workers.
