Doha to host emergency Arab-Islamic summit following 'Israeli' attack on Hamas leaders
Qatar News Agency (QNA) announced Thursday that Doha will host an emergency Arab-Islamic summit early next week.
The summit aims to address the repercussions of the 'Israeli' attack targeting Hamas leaders on Qatari soil and to coordinate a unified Arab and Islamic response to this serious development.
Background: Unprecedented Attack
The announcement comes two days after the airstrike in Doha. Qatar described the operation as a “cowardly attack targeting the residential offices of several members of the Hamas political bureau.”
The 'Israeli' army claimed responsibility for the strike, stating that it targeted “Hamas leadership” in Doha in coordination with the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).
Hamas confirmed that its negotiating delegation, led by Khalil al-Hayya, survived the assassination attempt, although several members of the movement were killed in the attack.
