Protests erupt in London against 'Israeli' President Herzog’s visit, calls for his arrest
Protesters gathered outside Chatham House in the British capital on Thursday to denounce the visit of 'Israeli' President Isaac Herzog to the United Kingdom.
Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and held placards condemning 'Israel’s' actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, calling for Herzog’s arrest on accusations of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The protest coincided with a high-level meeting between Herzog and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street.
Following the meeting, Herzog described the talks as “difficult,” citing “strong disagreements” between the two sides over recent measures taken by both Israel and the UK.
Herzog’s visit comes amid mounting international tension over the war in Gaza. Human rights organizations and popular movements continue to call for accountability for 'Israeli' officials over the ongoing military operations in the besieged territory.
