The Yemen's Houthis said ‘Israel’ struck the capital Sanaa on Sunday, the latest attack against the Iran-backed group which has launched missiles and drones at ‘Israel’ throughout the Gaza war.

The Houthis' Al-Masirah TV reported an ‘Israeli’ aggression on the capital Sanaa, which left "two dead and five wounded" in a preliminary toll.

The strikes targeted locations in Sanaa in “retaliation for continued rocket and drone launches,” according to Hebrew media.

The ‘Israeli’ military said it targeted “military infrastructure of the Houthi terrorist regime in the Sanaa area, including a military site in which the presidency palace is located, the Asar and Hizaz power plants, and a site for storing fuel” in a statement after the strikes took place.

It further claimed that these sites were used for “military activity of the Houthi terrorist regime.”

Sources cited by Channel 14 said the Presidential Palace in Sanaa was a central target of the attack. According to Channel 13, the air force targeted a missile base near the presidential compound. Other sources told Channel 14 that a military site within the palace complex, along with fuel depots and two power plants, were hit.

Houthi media reported that the ‘Israeli’ attack targeted the oil company station on Al-Sitteen Street in Sanaa.

A military source told the ‘Israeli’ army radio that the attacks have concluded and that “assassinations were not part of the operation.”

The source added that the raid on the Presidential Palace was intended as a message to the Houthis that "the authorities are in our sights."
