Jordan PM: ‘Greater Israel’ an illusion, reality is "isolation and siege"
In strong remarks, Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan said that “the reality does not point to the illusion of a Greater Israel, but to an Israel that is isolated, besieged, rejected, and fought against” due to the policies of “brutality and extremism” it pursues.
His comments came during talks with the Lebanese Prime Minister at the Prime Ministry in Amman, where Hassan stressed that the region faces two contradictory projects, one that seeks stability and prosperity, and another that aims to sustain wars and deepen hatred.
“We hear about visions and proposals whose essence is the perpetuation of endless war, such as the illusions of Greater Israel promoted by extremist Israeli politicians,” Hassan said. “But the reality reflects policies that fuel hatred and resentment as massacres continue and the peoples of the world and the region will not forgive that.”
Two opposing paths for the region
Hassan explained that the region faces two choices: “The first, which we strive for, is based on state sovereignty, stability, and empowering peoples to pursue prosperity and resilience. The second seeks to sustain, expand, and deepen conflicts and wars, which only fuel hatred.”
Jordan’s steadfast support for Lebanon
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Jordan’s firm stance toward Lebanon, noting that King Abdullah II consistently directs support for the Lebanese people.
He underscored Jordan’s backing of Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, stability, and prosperity, as well as the extension of state authority across all Lebanese territory, stressing full cooperation with Lebanese institutions.
