‘Israel’ is expected to announce a “humanitarian pause” on Sunday in several populated areas of the Gaza Strip, including parts of the north, according to a report by Channel 12 citing a senior official.

The pause is set to begin at 10 AM and continue until the evening. The move is said to be aimed at allowing humanitarian aid to enter the enclave and enabling limited civilian movement, amid growing international pressure to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

No official details have been released yet about the exact areas covered or the duration of future pauses. Palestinian officials have not issued an immediate response.

The announcement, however, follows a statement from the ‘Israeli’ military on Saturday evening, claiming it had begun implementing steps to improve humanitarian access, based on directives from the political leadership and an assessment of the situation on the ground.

The army said it would resume airdropping aid and open designated corridors to allow United Nations convoys carrying food and medicine to reach civilians in need. It also claimed readiness to implement further humanitarian pauses in densely populated zones across the Strip.
