France to recognize Palestine at UN in September, says Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron announced Thursday that France will officially recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in New York this September.

Posting on X and Instagram, Macron stated: “In keeping with our historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the State of Palestine. I will make the announcement official during the UN General Assembly this September.”
