Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian army, Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, on Sunday oversaw the "Piercing Star" night tactical exercise conducted by the Princess Basma Mechanized Battalion/3 ("Umm Al-Nashama"), a unit of the Eastern Military command.

The exercise took place in a training area and was attended by the Assistant for Operations and Training and the Region Commander – a statement by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) said.

Maj. Gen. Al-Huneiti received a briefing from the Region Commander and Battalion Commander on the exercise's objectives, operational area, participating forces, and execution phases.

The exercise is part of the operational and combat training plan aimed at refining the skills of the unit's personnel and enhancing their capabilities in various field conditions.

The exercise simulated complex combat scenarios, including assaulting and clearing built-up areas using armored vehicles and helicopters, engaging and destroying targets, and conducting medical evacuations.

It also incorporated the use of drones for reconnaissance and destroying high-value targets. The training was executed according to the latest combat methods, utilizing light and medium weapons, sniper fire, mortars, anti-armor weapons, and drones, with direct support from Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) aircraft.
