Al-Qassam Brigades claim deadly ambush in northern Gaza
The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for a deadly ambush against the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in northern Gaza, describing it as an "exceptional security event" that resulted in the killing of five 'Israeli' soldiers and injuring at least 10 others.
In a post shared via their Telegram channel, the group released a photo titled, “Enemy soldiers' funerals and corpses will become a constant and ongoing event, God willing, as long as the occupation’s criminal war on our people continues.”
Al-Qassam also issued a direct message to the IOF, saying, “We will crush the prestige of your army,” in response to what it called massacres committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Earlier, 'Israeli' sources revealed new details about the incident, confirming that the targeted 'Israeli' unit belonged to the Netzah Yehuda Battalion.
According to the reports, the IOF soldiers were caught in a well-planned ambush involving four explosive devices:
- The first bomb hit a tank
- The second targeted a rescue team
- The third struck a secondary rescue force
- And the fourth was detonated among the remaining soldiers in the area
The ambush also involved small arms fire directed at wounded soldiers during the initial phase of the attack.
In response, the IOF deployed helicopters to drop flares over the Beit Hanoun area to assist with evacuation and improve visibility in the aftermath of the strike.
