‘Israel’ has rejected amendments proposed by Hamas to the latest Gaza ceasefire and hostage release agreement, calling them “unacceptable,” according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) issued Saturday night.

The response comes after Hamas said it had reviewed the framework with other Palestinian factions, who were “unified” in their “positive” stance toward the deal.

Despite dismissing Hamas’ proposed changes, the PMO said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had instructed officials to proceed with negotiations based on the Qatari-mediated framework that ‘Israel’ had previously accepted.

“Following a situation assessment, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed to respond positively to the invitation for proximity talks and to continue the negotiations for the return of our hostages based on the Qatari proposal that Israel has agreed to,” the statement read.

‘Israel’s’ negotiation team is expected to head to Qatar on Sunday to resume the talks.
