US lawmakers push bill to arm 'Israel' with B-2 stealth bombers
A new bipartisan bill introduced in the US House of Representatives would give President Donald Trump the authority to allow 'Israel' access to American B-2 stealth bombers and bunker-busting bombs if Iran is found to be advancing its nuclear weapons program.
The legislation, proposed by Democratic Congressman Josh Gottheimer and Republican Mike Lawler, is called the “Bunker Buster Act” and aims to prepare 'Israel' for what lawmakers describe as a worst-case scenario. The bill allows for coordination on deployment, equipment use, and joint training—without transferring full ownership of the weapons.
The move follows a recent US airstrike in which B-2 bombers reportedly dropped 14 GBU-57 bunker-busting bombs on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, which President Trump claimed had “completely destroyed” Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Simultaneously, reports say 'Israel' targeted senior Iranian military positions.
“Iran funds terrorism and has attacked both US troops and our ally 'Israel',” Gottheimer said. “We must ensure 'Israel' can defend itself and prevent Iran from rebuilding its nuclear program.”
Despite the damage, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi warned that Iran still has the capability to resume enrichment activities within months, or possibly weeks.
The bill also comes amid rising tensions with Yemen. After the Houthis launched a missile toward Tel Aviv, US Ambassador to 'Israel' Mike Huckabee suggested sending B-2 bombers to strike Houthi targets.
If passed, the bill would expand military coordination between the US and 'Israel' and could open the door to a broader regional military posture involving American strategic assets.
