Gaza death toll rises to 56,259
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday a rise in the number of casualties resulting from the ongoing 'Israeli' assault on the besieged strip, warning that the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate amid difficulty in reaching many victims.
According to the ministry’s daily report, hospitals in Gaza received 103 killed and 219 injured in the past 24 hours. Emergency and civil defense teams remain unable to recover victims trapped under rubble or in the streets due to the ongoing bombardment and limited access to targeted areas.
The ministry stated that the total death toll since October 7, 2023, has risen to 56,259, with 132,458 injured. Since March 18, 2025, alone, 5,936 people have been killed and 20,417 wounded.
The Health Ministry stressed that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening amid a continued blockade, severe shortages in medical supplies, and mounting fears of a total collapse of the healthcare system.
