Jordan’s army chief visits key military units, praises readiness and response
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, visited the Martyr Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base on Wednesday, where he was received by the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force.
During the visit, Major General Al-Huneiti was briefed on the base’s operational duties during recent events, as well as its routine missions and the latest developments across various fields. He also inspected several aircraft squadrons and reviewed the level of readiness and ability to effectively carry out missions under different circumstances.

Praising the efforts of Royal Jordanian Air Force personnel, Al-Huneiti commended their professionalism and high level of performance during the latest incidents, highlighting their active role in protecting Jordan’s airspace and supporting national security. He affirmed that modernization of aircraft and equipment is ongoing to ensure the Jordan Armed Forces remain fully capable of defending the Kingdom.
In a related visit, Al-Huneiti also toured the Royal Engineering Corps Directorate, where he was received by the corps commander.
He was briefed by the head of the Unexploded Ordnance and Explosives Disposal Unit on how teams handled debris and explosives left behind by rockets and drones. The unit reported dealing with approximately 156 drones, 107 warheads, and 132 missiles across various parts of the country, all in efforts to protect public safety and property.
Al-Huneiti also inaugurated a new warehouse facility as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades to support the directorate’s operational efficiency. He praised the vital role of the Royal Engineering Corps and its field teams deployed across the Kingdom in enhancing public safety and national security.
At the end of both visits, Major General Al-Huneiti conveyed the greetings and pride of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, to the service members across all units, appreciating their dedication and commitment.
These visits are part of Al-Huneiti’s ongoing field inspections aimed at monitoring operational readiness and reinforcing a strong and sustainable national security framework.
