Gaza death toll tops 56,000, says Health Ministry

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced Wednesday that the death toll from 'Israel’s' ongoing assault since October 7, 2023, has risen to 56,156, with 132,239 others injured.

In its daily report, the ministry said Gaza’s hospitals received 79 fatalities—including 5 recovered from under the rubble—and 391 injuries in the past 24 hours as 'Israeli' attacks continued.

The ministry noted that “many victims remain trapped under the rubble or in the streets, and rescue teams are unable to reach them due to the intensity of the strikes and destruction.”

It also reported a sharp increase in casualties among Palestinians waiting for aid. Since May 27, when 'Israel' began distributing limited aid through the controversial "Gaza Relief Foundation"—an 'Israeli'- and US-backed mechanism rejected by the UN—549 people have been killed and over 4,000 injured while waiting for assistance.

The figure includes 33 killed and 267 injured in the past 24 hours alone.

According to the ministry, 5,833 people have been killed and 20,198 injured in Gaza since March 18, 2025, marking one of the deadliest phases of the war.

The ministry reiterated that 'Israel', with US support, is committing genocide in Gaza through “killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement,” in defiance of international calls and rulings by the International Court of Justice to halt its campaign.
