Jordan activates energy emergency protocol after gas supply decline

Jordan’s National Electric Power Company announced Monday it has activated its emergency plan amid the ongoing regional escalation and the resulting decline in natural gas supplies.

As part of the plan, gas supply to factories connected to the main gas network has been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure to prioritize critical distribution needs, the company said in a statement.

The company said that the move is temporary and will be reassessed once regional conditions improve and gas flow stabilizes.
