Jordan moves closer to 2026 World Cup dream after Oman victory

Jordan’s National Football Team became –temporarily– leaders of Group B with 16 points in the third round of the AFC World Cup Qualifiers after winning against hosts Oman 3-0; bringing them one step closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ali Olwan scored a hattrick. He marked his first goal from a penalty in the 45+7’ minute of the first half, before returning to add his second and third in minutes 51’ and 64’ of the second half.

If Iraq loses against South Korea in the currently ongoing match. Jordan would have mathematically secured its first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
