Blake Lively drops two claims against Justin Baldoni
Blake Lively has withdrawn two major claims against director and actor Justin Baldoni in their ongoing legal dispute stemming from their work on the 2024 film It Ends With Us.
According to court documents filed Monday, Lively is seeking to dismiss her claims of intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. The move comes after Baldoni’s legal team requested access to her medical and therapy records to support their defense.
Lively's lawyers told Variety the decision was a strategic effort to “streamline and focus” her case, which still includes allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, and defamation.
Baldoni’s attorneys, however, opposed the withdrawal “without prejudice,” warning it could allow the claims to be refiled later.
The legal battle began in December 2024 when Lively sued Baldoni, accusing him of harassment and a smear campaign. In January, Baldoni countersued Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, alleging civil extortion and defamation.
A trial is expected to begin in March 2026.
