Syrian Presidential decree grants Eid al-Adha bonus to state workers, retirees

President Ahmed al-Sharaa has issued a decree ordering the disbursement of a one-time financial grant to civil and military employees of the Syrian state in celebration of Eid al-Adha.

According to the decree, state employees—both civilian and military—will receive a bonus of 500,000 Syrian pounds. Additionally, retirees, including civilian and military pensioners, will be granted 300,000 Syrian pounds.

This comes just almost two months after the government had issued a similar one-time bonus for Eid al-Fitr, which amounted to the equivalent of a full month’s salary for state workers.

The bonuses are part of government efforts to ease the economic burdens facing Syrians amid a deepening financial crisis and high inflation rates.
