Hamas accuses Netanyahu of stalling peace talks with fake negotiations in Qatar
In a strongly worded statement released Tuesday, Hamas criticized the ongoing presence of the "Israeli" delegation in Doha, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of using the visit as a “blatant attempt” to mislead international public opinion and feign engagement in peace talks.
Hamas said the "Israeli" delegation lacks any real authority to negotiate and that no serious discussions have taken place since last Saturday, despite Netanyahu’s repeated extensions of the delegation’s stay.
The statement dismissed Netanyahu’s recent claims about allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza as “an attempt to deceive the international community.” Hamas noted that no aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip so far, including shipments that reached the Karam Abu Salem crossing but were not accepted by any international agency.
Hamas further condemned the recent escalation of "Israeli" military actions, including deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure and deadly assaults on women and children. These acts, Hamas said, coincided with the release of "Israeli"-American prisoner Edan Alexander and the presence of international delegations in Doha, revealing Netanyahu’s “insistence on war and destruction” rather than peace.
The movement held the "Israeli" government fully responsible for undermining efforts to reach a ceasefire, citing statements from "Israeli" officials signaling their intention to continue the aggression and forcibly displace Palestinians, in defiance of global diplomatic efforts.
Despite the deadlock, Hamas expressed appreciation for international mediators and pledged to engage positively with any initiative that would stop the violence, ensure an "Israeli" withdrawal, lift the blockade on Gaza, allow humanitarian aid, and begin reconstruction of the devastated territory.
The statement highlighted recent condemnations of "Israeli" actions from multiple European countries as a growing sign of global opposition to the ongoing blockade and violence.
