Both ‘Israel’s’ Arrow and the US THAAD air defense systems failed to intercept a ballistic missile fired by Yemen’s Houthi movement at Ben Gurion Airport earlier today, defense sources told 'The Times of Israel' on Sunday.

The missile ultimately landed within the airport's perimeter, prompting emergency security consultations at the highest levels of the 'Israeli' government.

the news outlet also reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to hold a phone meeting at 3 PM local time with Defense Minister Israel Katz and senior defense officials to assess possible responses, including a direct military strike on Houthi targets in Yemen.

Later in the evening, at 7 PM, Netanyahu will convene the full security cabinet to discuss not only the Houthi attack but also the broader military campaign in Gaza and developments in Syria.

'Israel's' Defense Ministry confirmed that multiple interception attempts were made before the missile struck near the airport, a major international gateway near Tel Aviv.

The United States had deployed the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) system to 'Israel' last year amid growing threats linked to Iran and its regional allies.

Following the strike, 'Israeli' police confirmed the impact near Ben Gurion Airport, while the Houthis officially claimed responsibility roughly two hours after the missile launch. No casualties were reported from the missile impact.

Defense Minister Katz vowed a forceful retaliation, stating, “Whoever strikes us will be struck back sevenfold.”
