“Medium-well steak?”: Users mock charred bodies of Gazans on “Israeli” social media
Overnight, “Israeli” strikes targeting civilians across the Gaza Strip killed at least 25 people, with harrowing footage coming out showing charred bodies of some children after the tents housing displaced Gazans caught fire.
Gaza’s civil defence agency said one strike alone that targeted several tents in the Al-Mawasi area of the southern city of Khan Younis resulted in 16 deaths, including a father and his child who were living in a tent.
Harrowing footage posted by Gazan journalists on social media showed men, women, and children burned alive and their lifeless bodies charred from the ensuing fire after the strike with smoke coming out.
One “Israeli” extremist Telegram channel vilely mocked the footage, saying: “How do you like your Nakba? Medium-well or well-done?”
The Nakba, a word in Arabic meaning “the catastrophe”, is the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, displacement and dispossession of land, property, and culture that ensued following the 1948 war.
The post on the channel, which has over 300,000 followers, garnered widespread reactions and comments.
“This is how I like my barbecue on holiday…” a user said in a comment on the post.
“More more more, revenge revenge revenge…Gaza should only become a sandbox and remain as such,” one other “Israeli” user said.
“Definitely a nice move to lower Gazan morale.”
“If possible, medium,” a reply said on the video, which showed bodies turned to ashes with smoke coming out.
The channel, named “the unapologetic right of the shadow”, regularly posts content mocking and celebrating “Israeli” massacres in Gaza, consistent with several “Israeli” right-wing government officials calling for genocide, blocking aid, and forcibly displacing Palestinians in the Strip.

Seven were killed in another strike on tents in the northern town of Beit Lahia, Gaza’s civil defense agency Bassal said.
"At least 16 martyrs, most of them women and children, and 23 others were wounded following a direct strike by two Israeli missiles on several tents housing displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis," Bassal told AFP.
