At least four people were killed and over 20 others injured in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, after US air strikes hit a residential area on Sunday, according to the Yemeni Ministry of Health.

Local reports confirmed that among the wounded were four women and children. The strikes targeted a home in Sanaa, collapsing part of the structure and causing significant civilian casualties.

In a broader wave of attacks, US warplanes also launched three air strikes on Al Jabal Al Aswad, located in the Bani Matar district west of the capital. Casualty figures from those strikes remain unknown at this time.

In the northern province of Saada, a known Houthi stronghold, at least two people were reported killed and nine others injured in overnight US strikes, Houthi officials said. Al Masirah, the Houthis’ satellite news network, broadcast footage showing the rubble of a two-story building brought down by one of the strikes.

The latest bombardments are part of a widening US air campaign targeting the Houthi movement, which Washington accuses of threatening global shipping lanes in the Red Sea.
