Advisory issued as dust storm sweeps Jordan

Jordan has been under the influence of “Khamsin” weather since Sunday morning, accompanied by an unusually warm air mass that has significantly brought dust  across the country.

According to ArabiaWeather, dust is expected to intensify in the coming hours, causing a sharp decline in visibility across many areas.

Satellite imagery also shows the development of cumulonimbus clouds over southern parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Dead Sea region, bringing localized rain showers and strong surface winds.

ArabiaWeather has advised the public to take precautions, particularly vulnerable groups such as the elderly and individuals with respiratory conditions.

Recommendations include limiting outdoor exposure, wearing medical-grade face masks to reduce inhalation of dust, and keeping windows tightly closed at home.

Motorists are also urged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility on the roads.
