Social media personality and self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate is facing fresh legal trouble as his ex-girlfriend, Brianna Stern, has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles, accusing him of sexual assault, battery, and gender-based violence.

The lawsuit outlines their relationship, describing how Tate initially appeared to be an ideal partner before allegedly becoming emotionally and physically abusive. Stern claims that a violent incident took place on March 11 at The Beverly Hills Hotel, where she says she was assaulted and threatened.

Tate’s attorney, Joseph McBride, dismissed the lawsuit in a statement to the BBC, calling it a "blatant cash grab" and accusing Stern of seeking "money and attention." He added, "Andrew's legal team stands ready to defend him fiercely in court, where the truth will expose this baseless scheme."

McBride also criticized Stern’s attorney, Tony Buzbee—who is also representing multiple women in sexual assault cases against music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs—referring to him as a "lowlife bottom feeder."

This legal battle adds to Tate’s mounting legal challenges in multiple countries. In 2022, he and his brother Tristan Tate were arrested in Romania on allegations of forming a criminal organization, with Andrew also facing rape charges there. Additionally, both have been accused of sexual assault in the US and the UK, though neither has been convicted.

Stern’s lawsuit alleges a pattern of manipulation and control that began when she met Tate in Romania in the summer of 2024 while working as a model. According to her claims, Tate assured her that he would take care of her financially if they were in a relationship, initially portraying himself as charming before allegedly becoming verbally and physically abusive.

The lawsuit states that Tate began referring to Stern as his "property" and would frequently insult her, calling her an "idiot" among other derogatory names. It further details a violent encounter at The Beverly Hills Hotel, where she claims that a consensual interaction escalated into verbal degradation, physical assault, and a death threat.

"Tate began verbally degrading [the] Plaintiff as he routinely did - but this time it was much worse, more aggressive, and more violent," the lawsuit states. Stern alleges that he struck her face and head, ignored her pleas to stop, and applied pressure to her neck to the point that she nearly lost consciousness.

She claims that he repeatedly warned her, "If you ever cross me, I will kill you." The lawsuit states that after the alleged assault, Stern acted as if nothing had happened in an effort to safely leave the hotel the next morning. She later sought medical attention, where a doctor diagnosed her with "post-concussion syndrome."

According to the lawsuit, Tate later messaged Stern, writing, "If you ever betray me you will regret it." Stern reported the alleged assault to authorities only after Tate had left the country.

In addition to seeking punitive damages, Stern is requesting a restraining order and hopes the lawsuit will put an end to what she describes as Tate’s pattern of abusing women. The lawsuit does not specify an exact monetary amount but asks for statutory damages, attorney and court costs, and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Following the filing, Stern addressed the matter on Instagram, stating that she still had feelings for Tate despite the accusations. "It was honestly hard for me to accept that I was being abused," she wrote.
