The Israeli Occupation military acknowledged on Saturday that it fired on ambulances in Gaza, claiming they were "suspicious." The incident occurred in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah, near the border with Egypt, according to Channel 12.

The Gaza Civil Defense had reported on Monday that it lost contact with a rescue team of six volunteers sent urgently to Tel al-Sultan after reports of casualties from 'Israeli' forces advancing in the area.

On Friday, the Civil Defense confirmed finding the body of the team's leader, with the targeted ambulances found burned beyond recognition, indicating direct airstrikes.

Red Crescent Fears for Medical Team's Safety

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that it has not been able to contact its medical team of nine members since Sunday, raising concerns about the safety of medical personnel in Gaza.

UN: Rescue Workers Targeted in Gaza

UN humanitarian coordinator Tom Fletcher stated in a press release that ambulances have been targeted since March 18, resulting in the deaths of several rescue workers in Gaza. Fletcher urged the international community to ensure respect for international law, highlighting the growing violations against medical and relief workers in the region.

Gaza's Casualty Toll

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll since the resumption of 'Israeli' attacks on March 18 has reached 921, with 2,054 others injured. Over the past 24 hours, 26 people have been killed, and 70 more injured. The ministry also reported that many victims remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to rescue teams.

The total number of martyrs since October 7, 2023, now stands at 50,277, with over 114,000 injured.
