Gaza Media Office: 12,000 bodies trapped under rubble, famine threat escalates
The Government Media Office in Gaza issued a dire warning about the worsening situation in the region, highlighting that there are no alternatives to replace the shortages of food, fuel, and water.
The office warned that the ongoing closure of border crossings could lead to a full-scale famine in Gaza.
The statement emphasized that the blockade has pushed the territory to the brink of starvation, stressing the urgent need to fully lift the siege to allow for the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid.
Additionally, it was noted that most municipalities in Gaza have had to suspend waste collection, street clearing, and rubble removal due to a lack of resources.
The Government Media Office also revealed that around 12,000 bodies of martyrs remain trapped under the rubble, and the halt in waste and debris removal poses a significant risk of widespread disease outbreaks in the area.
