Trump jokes about Macron: "He sold me out!"

US President Donald Trump shared a humorous anecdote about his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, recalling a moment that took place during a dinner in Paris.

Speaking about the encounter, Trump said that as he and Macron were having dinner with their wives at the Eiffel Tower. "[Macron] started speaking the French deal and we didn't have an interpreter. He kept going on and on and on.. and I was just nodding yes, yes, yes."

Jokingly, he added, "He really sold me out cause I got back the next day and I read the papers and I said—that’s not what we said!"

"He's a smart customer, I will tell you that," Trump added as Macron laughed.
