"Israel" prevents detainees' families from traveling to Egypt ahead of release

The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office reported that "Israeli" forces have prevented the wife of detainee Nael Barghouti and the family of another detainee, Ashraf Khalil Abu Roub, from traveling to Egypt to meet them upon their release.

Barghouti's wife, who was on her way to Egypt to welcome her husband following his release in the seventh prisoner exchange scheduled for tomorrow, was stopped by "Israeli" authorities.

Barghouti, one of the longest-serving Palestinian detainees, has been a focal point of resistance efforts. His release is seen as a significant event, marking a breakthrough in the ongoing aggression and prisoner exchanges, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office.

In another incident, the family of Ashraf Khalil Hussein Abu Roub was also prevented from traveling to Egypt, where their son had been forcibly deported. Abu Roub’s deportation is part of a broader set of "Israeli" measures against Palestinian detainees, further straining relations between Palestinian families and "Israeli" authorities.

The report emphasized that these travel restrictions highlight ongoing efforts by "Israel" to control the freedom of Palestinians and their families, particularly in the context of sensitive prisoner exchanges and deportations. Palestinian officials and human rights organizations have repeatedly condemned such actions, calling them violations of basic rights and freedoms.

Tomorrow marks the largest exchange of detainees since the deal began, with around 602 Palestinian detainees expected to be freed.
