Nael Al-Barghouti, longest serving Palestinian detainee, to be released Saturday

18-02-2025 19:47|Nael Al-Barghouti, the longest-serving Palestinian detainee, is set to be released next Saturday under the seventh prisoner exchange as part of the ceasefire between Hamas and "Israel".
His family confirmed that he informed his wife of the release, which is conditional on his exile outside of Palestine.
Nael Al-Barghouti, who has spent 45 years in "Israeli" prisons, holds the record for the longest period of imprisonment in the history of Palestinian detainees.
Nael Al-Barghouti, the dean of Palestinian prisoners in "Israeli" jails and “the longest-held prisoner in the world” according to the 2009 Guinness World Records, is also known as “Abu al-Noor” among fellow detainees.
