Reuters admits misreporting last week's meeting between King, Trump
Reuters has acknowledged that it misreported a statement attributed to King Abdullah II during his meeting with US President Donald Trump on February 11.
The news agency issued an official statement admitting the error in its coverage, stating that the report included inaccurate remarks attributed to the king, which caused significant controversy.

In a clarification sent to its subscribers, the agency explained that the report had omitted the king’s introductory remarks on the Arab proposal concerning Gaza, which led to a misrepresentation of the context of the statements.
During the meeting, King Abdullah emphasized that Jordan's interests would always come first, pointing out that there is an Arab plan, led by Egypt and other countries, regarding the Gaza Strip.
He stressed the need for a solution that considers everyone’s interests, with a focus on the rights and interests of the Jordanian people.
His Majesty also reiterated the importance of stabilizing the ceasefire in Gaza, enhancing humanitarian response, and speeding up reconstruction efforts, highlighting Jordan's efforts in this regard.
